Feminine Movement

In my humble opinion, the biggest give-away that a man is dressed as woman is the way the person walks!!  Most men walk like they are attacking!  They clomp from place to place and move with no grace whatsoever.  For us to appear to be women, we have to overcome years of clomping.

How can we do this?  Only one way, practice, practice, practice. You have years of ungraceful experience to overcome.  How you do it is up to you, but I realized that watching movies and taking mental notes wasn't getting me to the point that I looked comfortable.

I went to a Tri Ess convention in San Francisco many years ago, and as one of the class offerings, there was a modeling session.  I signed up and had a ball. The single session hooked me.  A gay guy taught the class, he had more of a feminine movement than any real woman I had seen.  Since I lived only minutes from San Francisco, I signed up for the full course a few weeks later.

The instructor treated me just like any other woman in the class, even though I often went in drab. I took my highest heels and learned to move gracefully.  He taught a wide array of people to move and act graceful.  Many of the students were young girls  seeking modeling jobs.  They knew that they had to look like models so they took the training.  Why should I be so different from them?  Many of the young girls in the class helped me out and praised my efforts. Women are far more supportive of other women than men will ever be cabaple of doing.  They stepped right in and accepted my love for the feminine and couched me without criticism.  It was a great series of classes and I really learned a lot about women.

Following the series of classes, I was asked to act as an instructor for a few classes, and eventually assisted in the poise and makeup classes.  I was used as the evidence that even a plain man could turn out beautiful and poised if he practiced.

Practice walking in your highest heels, or at least the ones that you would wear out for the evening.  A few minutes in high heels is nothing like spending 6 hours dancing and walking to and from clubs.  Ever wonder why you don't see that many women wearing really high heels on the dance floor, or anywhere else for that matter?? Jump over to the shoes section for a little more information on the basics of shoes. These are 5 inch heels with a "Cuban heel" shape.  I can now comfortably walk all day in them, and often do.

Practice with your dancing shoes, or your flashy shoes.  I often wear five inch heels for dance practice then switch to my four inch heels for the evening.  The taller shoes allow me to overcome my poor walking and get back into the swing of wearing heels. They also stretch out the tendons of the ankle and get me used to walking in heels again.

Movement:

Women move with deliberate moves, they don't jerk around.  They reach carefully for their drink, their nails slipping around the glass with a cat-like quality. They are not brusque in their movement, they swing around into their chairs, not dump down into them. (I am speaking of the target feminine appearance, not some of the rough-types that act more harsh than most men)

If you are wearing long nails, and I highly recommend them as a part of the overall "package of femininity", you have to be careful.  Long nails are tough to maneuver and take a lot of practice.  See my section on Nails for more information on this area.
