Shoes, shoes, shoes....and walking This page was last updated
03/01/2009 10:51:44 AM Shoes... Simply another of my weaknesses, and I know I am not alone. You know who you are! I have been looking at, buying, and wearing women's shoes for over 30 years. I am now finding that there are some unique differences between men's and women's shoes. As an example, men's shoes are constructed much better for walking than women's. Nothing new there, but some women's shoes are so poorly constructed that I wonder how they hold up past a year. Men's shoes are heavier and have more room inside than women's. Could it be that nylons are thinner than heavy socks? Women's shoes tend to show more of the foot and give less support. The sizing is strange also. Most catalogs indicate that women's shoes are two sizes bigger in number for the same size, i.e., a men's size 8 would be equivalent to a women's size 10. I find that a women's size 9 works perfectly on my men's size 8 foot in most women's shoes. Costs are comparable when looking at better men's versus better women's shoes. I pay $100 for a good pair of men's dress shoes and easily spend the same for a pair of all leather high heels. I have been wearing a pair of 4 inch Cuban Heels (sexy little bell-bottom heels with a great outline) to shop in and dance for the past 2 years. They fit perfectly and look spectacular. I just received three new pair to match other outfits. Buy quality shoes. They feel better and will extend your comfort zone. There is almost nothing worse than having your feet start to hurt just as you start having fun. The pink 5 inch patent pumps I bought from Fredericks 5 years ago have been out only one time...... Walking in high heels.... There is nothing in the world like watching a woman artfully walk in high heels. It causes the hips to sway at just the right angle and the clothing to really show off the wearer's figure.
This is the type of look I am speaking of. For the rest of this topic please click here to jump to the area.
